Library and Archives

The County of Prince Edward Public Library provides library access throughout the municipality in Ameliasburgh, Bloomfield, Consecon, Milford, Picton and Wellington. A variety of services including children's programming, teen services, public internet access, large print books, home delivery for seniors, videos, audio books on both CD and tape, microfilm/fiche reader and printer, and access to library collections across Ontario through interlibrary loan are available. Dog licenses and burn permits are all available at any branch of the library.

Online Resources Available

The library's online catalogue can be accessed 24 hours a day 7 days a week making it easy to locate and reserve an item from any internet connected computer. All branches are equipped with Wi-Fi internet access for patrons to connect their laptops, PDAs and other wireless ready devices. The library also provides access to a number of online databases including ebooks, auto repair guides, periodical databases (magazines and newspapers from across Canada), up-to-date health and wellness information and access to the online World Book Encyclopedia. All of these services can be accessed in a library branch or from the comfort of your home.

County of Prince Edward Archives

The County of Prince Edward Archives is an excellent resource for anyone interested in local history, including the people, events, and properties of Prince Edward County.
The mandate of the archives is to collect and preserve printed material having any bearing on the history of Prince Edward County.

New! The County of Prince Edward Public Archives has moved to a new facility in Wellington, located just behind the Wellington Library at 12 East Street.

Admission to the archives is free and all are welcome to see the facility and use the materials.
