The residents of Picton have a wastewater treatment facility and a wastewater collection system. As of February 2011, the wastewater treatment facility is located at 60 Church Street (formerly 3 Lalor Street) in Picton.
Replacement of the Picton Wastewater Treatment Plant
The lengthy and extensive process to replace the 60 year-old Picton Wastewater Treatment Plant culminated at a Special Council meeting on June 11, 2009 with the award of a contract to Maple Reinders Constructors Ltd, to design and build the new plant. At the same meeting, Council received a staff report which chronicled and analyzed the procurement process from its inception in 2004 to present.
