The Public Works Department is responsible for:
Public Works also provides comments to the Planning and Building Services Department for all land development, zoning and consent applications and with Planning prepare the necessary development agreements.
Effective July 12, 2010, Construction waste will no longer be accepted at the landfill sites located at:
Ameliasburgh - 245 Valley Road
Hillier - 450 Bakker Road
South Marysburgh - 1132 Old Milford Road
Construction waste will only be accepted at the following transfer sites located at:
Sophiasburgh - 35 County Road 14
Hallowell - 1080 Shannon Road
Picton - 37 Church St
Wellington - 275 Consecon St
On Sunday, August 22nd, 2010, there was another free TV & Electronics Drop Off Event at the Picton Home Hardware Parking lot located at 13544 Loyalist Parkway from 9am-2pm. The County organizes this type of event with the assistance of the Ontario Electronic Stewardship Program. Printing/Photocopying devices, telephones and cell phones, cameras, radios, stereo and video equipment have now been added to the list of accepted items at this type of event.
As of June 15 to September 15, 2010, the use of drinking water for outside purposes in only permitted every other day during specified times. To view the schedule, please click here.

Blue boxes may be purchased at Shire Hall at 332 Picton Main Street. Blue boxes and composters may be purchased on Monday and Thursday mornings only at 126 County Road 32 until further notice.
