The Public Works Department is responsible for:

Maintenance of Roads and Bridges
Drainage and Stormwater Systems
Water and Wastewater Billing
Water and Wastewater Operations
Solid Waste and Recycling Services
Databases, Civic Addressing, Signing and Mapping
Project Management and Tendering of all Public Works Capital Construction Projects in the Roads and Water and Wastewater Divisions

Waste Disposal Sites - Notice of Hours of Operation and Fees & Charges Increases

Please note that Council has determined at its Committee of the Whole meeting held on April 26, 2012 that the disposal charge of $10 for brush and clean lumber on Schedule "I" will not take effect and that Schedule "I" of the Fees and Charges By-law will be considered for amendment at the Council Meeting to be held on May 8, 2012.

Bag Tag Fees Increase to $3 and $5

Prince Edward County garbage bag tags will increase from $2.00 per tag to $3.00 per tag for curbside collection and $5.00 per tag for disposal at any of the waste disposal sites effective April 2, 2012. 

The current blue $2.00 Prince Edward County tags will be honoured at the curb & sites up to and including April 14th 2012, following which bags or cans must have a new $3.00 tag affixed in order to be eligible for collection.

Residents may receive credit for the $2.00 tags when returned to local bag tag retailers towards the purchase of new $3.00 tags beginning March 19th, 2012 until December 31, 2012. Information on bag tag retailers is available on the Prince Edward County website or by phone 613 476 2148 extension 326.

Blue Box & Composter Sales

Blue boxes may be purchased at Shire Hall at
332 Picton Main Street.  Blue boxes and composters may be purchased on Monday and Thursday mornings only at 126 County Road 32 until further notice.
