The guiding principles and goals for conducting the municipal election are as follows:

Information for Voters
To vote you must be:
- - a Canadian citizen,
- - at least 18 years of age and
- - either own or be a tenant of land in Prince Edward County or be the spouse of an owner or tenant of land.
- You can only vote once where you live even if you own properties in different wards.
- Your Voter Card will arrive in September by mail. It will give you information on Internet Voting, Advance Polls and Election Day voting locations and times.
If you don’t receive a Voter Card, you may not be on the Voters’ List – please contact the election office.
- For the first time Identification will be required at the polls under new Provincial regulations.
- There will be a Question on the Ballot: Are you in favour of Council commencing a public consultation process to review the size of Council for the County of Prince Edward?
Internet Voting
For the first time, County of Prince Edward electors will be able to vote over the internet. No long line-ups, no traffic, no bad weather days, vote from anywhere in the world!
Internet voting will be available from October 2 to October 20 at midnight.

Voters Lists
MPAC will be mailing out Municipal Enumeration Forms starting in April. The forms will be mailed to specific households where MPAC needs to confirm or update the occupant information.
This information is used to create the Voters List. If you received a form, it is important that you complete, sign and return to MPAC.

Need help voting?
- We have audio voting for visually or mobility impaired voters at Advance Polls only.
- Our voting locations are accessible but please contact the election office in advance if you have special needs so we can ensure you are provided the appropriate assistance.
- There will be a wheelchair at every voting location.
- Internet Voting or voting by Proxy are other options you may wish to consider.

Joint Compliance Audit Committee
The County of Prince Edward is required to have a municipal election Compliance Audit Committee to consider compliance audit applications with regard to candidates’ financial statements filed under Section 81 of the Municipal Elections Act for the 2010 election.
The County has partnered with the City of Quinte West, the City of Belleville, the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board to establish a Joint Compliance Audit Committee for the 2010 – 2014 term.
