Municipality gearing up

In support of the current and anticipated growth The Corporation of the County of Prince Edward has a $45,000,000, 20-year plan to upgrade its water and sewer facilities to ensure capacity and health standards are met. We have an accelerated $27,000,000 10-year roads upgrade program and are investing $650,000 to upgrade parks playground equipment.

The economic development office has an “open for business” attitude and provides information, resources and advice to facilitate new business. While Belleville and Napanee have some heavy industry, the County is ideal for light industry and manufacturing with excellent water and power supplies. Both Wellington and Picton have water treatment and sewage treatment facilities. Natural gas is available in many areas of the County. We are attracting information and technology-based businesses and professionals of all kinds who choose to live and work in the fresh air of the country.

Communications
It is of note that there are at least two Internet providers that are aggressively developing a wireless high-speed network in Southeastern Ontario, including Prince Edward County.
