Payment is required Monday-Friday between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm from April 1 to November 30. Parking is free from December 1 to March 31 each year.

Customers can also pay for parking using their smartphone. Download the free Passport Pay app through your mobile device’s App Store or visit https://passportca.com/park/

Using the app, enter the zone number – 3221 for on-street parking or 3222 for Market Lane parking lot – followed by your vehicle information and length of stay.

Visit Passport for more information.

On-street Parking - Residential Areas (No Meters)

On-street parking is available in residential areas in Picton and throughout the County of Prince Edward, subject to restrictions set out in the County’s Parking By-law. Areas with parking restrictions are clearly signed. Drivers are encouraged to read on-street parking signs carefully to determine if and when parking is permitted. Vehicles parked in contravention of the posted signs will be ticketed.

Between December 1 and March 31, overnight parking is not permitted on any County street or highway between the hours of 12 am and 6 am.

Feed the Meter Campaign

Each December, the municipality participates in the Feed the Meter campaign to raise much needed funds for student nutrition programs in Hastings and Prince Edward counties. Parking is free for the month of December but residents are encouraged to “feed the meter” to support the Food For Learning Program. All funds collected in meters are donated to support the Food for Learning programs in local schools.

Visit the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation website for more information about the Food for Learning program.

Accessible Parking

The County of Prince Edward has designated accessible parking spaces throughout the municipality – on streets, in municipal lots, and on private property. Accessible parking spaces are clearly identified and designated with a sign. Accessible parking spaces are for exclusive use of a vehicle displaying an accessible permit. There is a $300 minimum fine for parking in an accessible space without displaying a proper accessible parking permit. Visit the Service Ontario website for more information on obtaining an accessible parking permit.

In addition to designated accessible parking spaces, the County of Prince Edward offers free parking in Pay and Display parking spaces in downtown Picton for vehicles displaying an accessible parking permit. The vehicles are still subject to any maximum length of stay restrictions for the spaces.

Veteran Parking

A vehicle displaying an Ontario veteran licence plate is permitted to park without payment in an on-street Pay and Display space or in a Market Lane parking space.
